About Aram and Jill

Hi! We are Jill & Aram, we are avid readers, and are excited to share our love of books with you.

We started on our book journeys as kids. 

Jill started by reading mostly fiction books in junior high and high school, but then quickly moved over to mainly non-fiction in her early 20s. Some of her favorite topics include travelogues, world history, and wine. She also reads quite a few books on investing, personal finance, and true crime.

Some of Jill’s recent favorites include:

  • Kick Kennedy: The Charmed Life and Tragic Death of the Favorite Kennedy Daughter by Barbara Leaming

Growing up, Jill lived only a couple of blocks away from the public library: books were always within reach.

Aram was an avid book lover by the time he was in his teens. He currently reads almost every day including dedicating many hours on the weekend behind a great book. 

His favorite topics include history, politics, and social issues. He’s also been known to read quite a few memoires and travelogues.

Some of Aram’s recent favorite books include: 

  • The Cadaver King and the Country Dentist: A True Story of Injustice in the American South by Radley Balko
  • The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way by Amanda Ripley
  • Word by Word: The Secret Life of Dictionaries by Kory Stamper

In addition to reading, we love to travel, sample new wines, and meet amazing people around the world. 

We met in San Francisco in 2013 as Aram was moving to China. Jill joined him a few months later. We have been inseparable ever since. 

Jill started working online with a travel site in 2011 called www.SFTourismTips.com. Aram joined her full time after we left China in late 2014.

After many years of working on the travel site, starting a few other sites, and exploring more than 30 countries, we have decided it is time to start this website based on our love of reading.
